‘The independence gained by my son was incredible. He had very rich experiences and spent time doing activities he usually doesn’t. Life can be fun without electronics!’ – Day Camper Parent
Camp Chingachgook’s Day Camp
The Chingachgook experience is available to younger campers through the day camp program. Children from 5 to 10 years old enjoy an action packed day at camp.
Campers participate in activities such as swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, sports, archery, climbing tower, canoeing and more! Each week has a fun theme adding an exciting spin, from outer space to music fun, from the Olympics to eco-kids!
A Day at Chingachgook
The day camp program runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with an early pick-up on Fridays at 3:00 pm. Each day includes a nutritious lunch, afternoon snack, fun activities, and time to swim in beautiful Lake George.
Campers learn to cooperate, work together as a team, share responsibilities and have fun. Camp groups are divided by age, and there is time each day for everyone to be together.

Campers will receive basic swim instruction from trained counselors, including stroke development, safety topics and water games to increase comfort and safety in the water.
Swim instruction is given Monday through Thursday, with Friday’s swim time reserved for “Fun Friday” activities, including going off Chingachgook’s rope swing!
Getting Ready for Overnight Camp
Day campers have the opportunity to see what staying at camp is all about with an optional overnight each Thursday. Experiencing a campfire (complete with s’mores) and camping out in a tent with friends (or in nearby Rotary Lodge if rain is in the forecast) is a great first step.
The overnight is an additional fee of $20 that includes dinner, breakfast and evening programming.
Our staff is a big reason your child will want to come back year after year! We select only the most caring and talented young adults to be role models for our campers.
Chingachgook’s day camp maintains a camper-to-staff ratio of six-to-one and is limited to 50 campers. Camp also employs a team of healthcare professionals who provide consistent care to campers throughout the summer.
